My Story
My name is Monica Huertas and I am a mother of four children, and I am a bilingual - English and Spanish - Birth and Breastfeeding  Doula.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work From Rhode Island College.
I am experienced working with Pregnant and Parenting teens who have suffered abuse and trauma.
I have experience using advocacy and education to empower undocumented moms to make informed decisions about their pregnancy and birthing plans.
My goal is to remind birthing persons- including young, undocumented moms- that they hold the power to make decisions for themselves and babies.
I draw my knowledge in brith-work from extensive training, personal experience and the amazing moms who I have worked with. My Caribbean - Afro- Indigenous roots ground me.
